We have had an amazing week of fall weather. The sun has been out and while it's pretty chilly outside it is beautiful! Things seemed to go back to some what normal this last week and it's such a wonderful feeling knowing we are heading into wint
er and not spring. It is completely dark by 8:30 and we are loosing more and more by the day.
Bears have been the main topic of discussion in our community. The lack of food have pushed many bears into town. On Friday we had to move all the children inside. There were four bears running through our woods. The troopers shot one, but were still after the other three about the time school was dismissing. None of the kids could walk home. It made for a confusing 2o minutes, but we didn't see anything.
Well today (Sunday) Stephen and I decided to drive out to the flats and sure enough there was a little Kodiak bear hanging out down at the river. Not l
ong after we were there another one showed up. While these are by no means the largest bears around they were so much fun to watch. There are so many people in Kodiak that have lived here many many years and never seen a bear. This year, it's been hard not to see one.
Oh, today we also decided to make salsa. We got some great veggies and our friend Ryan is great at salsa making. So we all got together and canned some extremely good salsa!
