Stephen had the opportunity last week to do alittle exploring around Kodiak and Spruce Island with a native man from Ouzinkie. This man is great at finding all sorts of things around the island. On their trip they found a dead bear that they took claws from, a dead beach whale (Herman wanted one of the bones, but it wasn't quite decomposed enough for Stephen to pull it free). When they pulled up to the whale there was a Kodiak bear eating it too. They also did some tidepooling and got an octupus, which they ate for supper that evening.
