In the middle of June Stephen, Greyson and I loaded up and headed to Illinois and the Great Rivers Region. I spoke at three different churches and visited their church camp. We had a wonderful time with Jack and Hilda Smith, long time friends of Kodiak Baptist Mission. They were incredibly encouraging to us. They have such a fervor for life and do so many great things to keep themselves young, oh and they have an amazing garden.
I have to admit I was a little reluctant to drive all the way to Illinois, but visiting with so many long time supporters of KBM was wonderful. It was great to put faces to all the support we have come to the Mission. It really shows that there is such a large body of believers all across the country.
Oh, the picture of the little green guy . . . let me explain. We used some of our funds from the Campbell's soup labels (so many send up to the Mission, so we can get things like the little green guy to keep people going slow). Anyway, over the course of a summer both of our little green guys were stolen from our campus. Well when we were out at their camp, I found one of them!
