As I was putting Greyson to bed the night of his birthday I laid down next to him and told him about the night after he was born. I explained that I stayed up almost the entire night just looking at him. I had waited so long to see his face and count his little fingers and toes I just couldn't sleep.
As we laid there I wrapped my arms around his now bigger body and gave him a big hug. He then grabbed my and told me "don't go mommy". He then gave me a hug and started to rub my back.
Oh, what an incredible moment. This little boy that three years ago laid in my arms was giving love back to me. Because Greyson has grown up in an incredible, loving family, with plenty of hugs, kisses and loving boundaries he has love to share back. I know we're only three years into this long, life journey, but it was great encouragement for Stephen and me to know we're doing alright!
Thank you so much to our parents too who showed us how to be parents too.
