Christmas!!!

Well Christmas 2013 is one we will always remember.  Before becoming a parent as much as I tried I really had no idea what it was like.  Starting the night of the 23rd Landry started throwing up.  He proceeded to not feel well and only throw up in the night all over his bed (as a parent you know this means middle of the night bath and laundry with a sick little boy that starts to scream every time he is set down).

Stephen and I were both in the Christmas Eve service and all our friends where either in the program or had other commitments so we all went.  Thank God for good friends.  Luke, one of Landry's favorite people held him the entire service.

Christmas morning came and Greyson had a runny nose and a pretty bad cough to go with Landry's upset tummy.  But it was Christmas and even while not feeling well they thought they'd be okay to open gifts.

We started with pancakes, the Christmas story and then gifts.  We are so thankful that Greyson seems to understand the real meaning of Christmas.  On Christmas Eve he was very outspoken in front of the entire congregation during the Advent Candle Lighting.  All the kids came up and he knew the answers.  He explained that the big candle in the middle was saved for Christmas.  When he saw Mary and Joseph he knew all about them during the performance.
Anyway, back to Christmas morning.  We had a lot of fun opening gifts from family members.  Landry even got into it a little.

Once afternoon rolled around we were thinking we'd probably be staying home, but since we were the only ones with young children going to our Christmas supper and gathering everyone wanted us to come.  So we loaded up and headed to our good friends the Nussbaums.  In Kodiak most everyone is away from their families so we had such a unique group of people all gathered together.  What a blessing to celebrate Jesus' birth with so many different people from so many different places.
Our Kodiak Christmas was complete with crab.  It was a group project getting it all shelled and we still have so much, but it was very very good.

Ted and Kathy have a really fun house for little kids.  Grey and Landry found a secret room and had a lot of fun playing in it.

A couple of days before Christmas Greyson had fun meeting "Santa Clause".  We are not doing the whole thing of believing in Santa Clause, but while he knows it's pretend he likes it a lot.

Landry spent most of the day before and after Christmas just sitting, which is not something Landry ever does.

Greyson got a stick horse and cowboy hat from his Grandpa and Grandma Foreman.  He loves it.  at 4:30am on December 26th he was in by Stephen and my bed asking where his horse was.  He is a pretty cute little cowboy!
