We were having a normal evening. I had just put Greyson to bed and was coming out to talk to our friend Ellamy who was over for a visit. As we stood around the kitchen table Ellamy looked out the window and said, "hmm it looks like. . . Oh, My Goodness!!!! IT'S A BEAR!" Yes, a bear was walking across Mission Lake right in front of our house. It was amazing for sure! We run out onto our deck and watched him some more. Well we thought he had gone up into the woods on the other side of the lake but no sooner had we said that we thought he was gone and he showed up again!
She was heading to some very thin ices and then, SPLASH! yep, she fell right through and then swam through the thin ice, breaking as she went to the other side.
It is unfortunate, the poor bear was hungry and not well. A couple of days later they had to euthanize her because she was hanging around the schools. It's the first time in 14 years they have done something like that.
It's hard to believe that we watched this bear from our living room and deck!
